Galway Go Club is a free, beginner-friendly club for the board game Go, also called Weiqi or Baduk, meeting every Tuesday from 5:30 pm at Cadell, 31 Woodquay, Galway.

Do I need to know the rules?
Not at all. We'll teach you in a few minutes. The basics are simple. The strategy is what takes a lifetime.
Do I need to bring equipment?
No. We have boards and stones. Just show up.
Is it ok to come alone?
Most people do. You'll be paired up for a game straight away.
How do I find you inside Cadell?
Just look for the Go boards. You'll spot us easily once you're inside. Come say hello.
Is there a cost?
The club is free. Most people grab a tea, coffee, or a pint. The venue looks after us, so we look after them.
What skill level?
All levels, from complete beginners to experienced players. Everyone's welcome.
Is there an online community?
Most regulars are in the club WhatsApp group. Ask anyone on the night to be added. The Irish Go Association Discord also has a Galway channel.
